One of the questions most people ask me is , "How was Whittier discovered?". In this post I will be telling you about the history if Whittier. Whittier was discovered by the U.S Military during World War 2. The Military thought it was the perfect place to have a base because when enemy planes were flying overhead they would not be able to see down below because of the cloud coverage Whittier gets. Soon after Whittier was established they decided that they needed a non water way passage to get supplies back and forth between places, so they got two teams together and sent one team to the other side of one of the mountains and they started mining until both teams met up in the middle of the mountain. When they met up they were only 2 inches off in height. The tunnel was 2 1/2 miles long.
